#PressforProgress: The Women Who Inspire Our World

At AppLift we value gender equality and place emphasis for empowering women to take a more active role in tech. We believe that strong economies can sustain only when we empower our women and break down the barriers. Every year, the International Women’s Day celebrates socio, economic, cultural and political achievements of women as well as push for greater support for gender parity. This year’s International Women’s Day is pushing efforts to #PressforProgress, motivating and uniting friends, colleagues and whole communities to think, act and be gender inclusive.

This whole week, as part of our celebrations for International Women’s Day, if you have come across our Instagram channel, we have given the stage to feature the strong, independent and extremely talented women at AppLift.

Let’s hear from some of our women colleagues on who are the superheroes they look up to that inspire them to #PressforProgres

Lucía Martín, Senior Product Designer

I have many female role models, but one is Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s president, she was a pioneer in guerilla activism and she started one of the biggest animal rights associations. “Never doubt that one person can make a difference.”

Anna Schmitt, Product Marketing

“My mother has been a great source of inspiration being an entrepreneur and setting up and running her own business successfully while raising two kids at the same time.”

Suguna Rajaram, Head Of HR, India

“Indra Nooyi Chairwoan and Chief Executive Officer of Pepsico she is one of those inspiring women who has fought against odds to become one of the most successful women leaders in the corporate world. She is a living testament to the kind of success what woman can achieve. An epitome of being bold and her strong leadership leaves me Inspired.”

Bhavna Kaushal, Campaign Manager US

“My role model is my mom. She immigrated to this country for my dad without knowing anyone here. She put her career aspirations on hold to give her 2 daughters a better life and turned a foreign country into a home for her family….and also Michelle Obama because the woman is a straight up bada$$.”

Jenny Jung, Human Resources Manager APAC

“ If you ask me a female role model, I don’t have a figure. I have high respect for all women who try to pursue their own paths (professional and personal). Everyone around me — from my colleagues, friends, and family — inspires me in different ways. I believe their strength, persistence, confidence, and honesty truly make the world a better place.”
